Nutrition
Nutrition is equally as important as the exercise, in fact probably more so. The old phrase "You are what you eat" is certainly correct, but unfortunately, nowadays the term "You are what you don't eat" is more applicable to most people’s lifestyle! What you eat determines your energy level, repairs the body, fuels the body and generally controls how you feel and look. However, eating the wrong foods, the wrong amount, or at the wrong times, can undo all of the hard work you have done physically. Before or after a demanding workout, or sporting event, the timing of your food is critical. It will have a major impact on your levels of energy, your mental state and also your recovery time. I will discuss nutrition and its benefits, foods that should be avoided, and can write plans to suit every lifestyle. It won't be a big overhaul, and you may be surprised how easy it really is!
Circuit Training
A great way to incorporate cardiovascular work with resistance work is to achieve an all over body workout. I often combine circuit training within my personal training sessions.

Balance and co-ordination
Not just important for seniors, balance and co-ordination training will make you a more efficient performer in activities of daily living and sports and provides excellent conditioning for your core trunk muscles (tummy!).
Weight control
Having trouble losing or gaining a few pounds? Let us give you the support and encouragement you need to be successful. Not only will we design an optimal fitness routine but using daily food logs, we continually assess, monitor and set goals with you. We do not advise following diets. Instead, we prefer to make subtle changes that we have mutually agreed on.
Injury rehab
If you have an injury, if you do not work on strengthening/mobilising your muscles and joints, you may suffer in the long-term. It is so important to retrain injured muscles correctly so that they heal as they should.
I work with many clients who are either recovering from an injury, have lower back pain or want to strengthen their muscles to prevent those niggles that we can all suffer from. Also, exercising is a well known preventative measure for osteoporosis (bone degeneration).
Don't think that because you are injured you cannot exercise. Using a variety of training techniques such as Swiss ball training, bodyweight exercises and stability work, we will have you back to normal in record time. Exercise has been proven to delay or prevent surgery (in some cases).
